provide a user-friendly interface for use with the Internet Relay Chat
network. The IRC network is a virtual meeting place where people from all
over the world can meet and talk. Using IRC Chat Below are a series of steps designed to get you on IRC as quickly as possible. We'll skip all introductions to IRC and mIRC here. We trust you know how to download and install programs on your PC. If not please goto the Java Chat Client for some help. STEP 1 - Download mIRC Go to the download page to download the mIRC5.5 (16bit, for Win 3.x.) or mirc5.5 (32 bit, for Win95, Win98, and WinNT.). The 32 bit issue is meant for 32 bit Operating Systems like Windows95. If you are not sure what issue to use, try the 16 bit mIRC issue! Pick a nearby download address for fast transfer speed. STEP 2 - Install mIRC Open the file manager or windows explorer and double click on the file that you downloaded. This will start the automatic extraction and installation process. Just follow the given installation instructions. STEP 3 - Setup mIRC Open the mIRC group folder and double click on mIRC's icon to start the program. The mIRC Setup dialog will appear asking you to fill in some personal info and to make up an IRC Nickname. As Shown Below. STEP 4 - Conecting to CCNet Select the CCNet Server from the pull down menu as shown below. Click on the Connect button, to connect to CNet STEP 5 - Join a Channel Once you're connected, to join a channel type: /list to see all Channels available. Just double-click the ones you would like to join. You are on CCNet now ! Type in the following Server information into the proper fields as shown Below. In the description field type: Christian Chat Network Then for IRC Server type: irc.christian-chat.net Finally, for port type: 7000, 6667, 6668, 6669, 1024 Click here for the Java Interface Common IRC Commands: /list - to list the current channels If you need any help with any IRC commands please goto the #help channel by typing /join #help and someone will be more then happy to help you.
